Be Loon Smart: Fish Lead Free

Augusta - Doing just one thing can make a difference in our lakes and fisheries - let’s fish lead free!

Anglers, check out the Maine’s Sportsman’s Show at the Augusta Civic Center March 31-April 2, and be sure to visit the Fisher Lead Free booth hosted by Maine Audubon. You can get free samples of top-quality lead-free lures, sinkers, and weights in exchange for your old lead tackle. If you have any old lead tackle, bring them in and Maine Audubon will dispose of everything properly. Fishing lead free prevents contaminants from poisoning our loon populations.

Vendors, do you want to partner on a tackle buyback? Instead of offering lead-free tackle samples to anglers who turn in their lead, Maine Audubon will give them a $10 coupon to be spent at your booth! After the show, mail back your paper vouchers and an invoice to Maine Audubon and you will be reimbursed for the total numbers of vouchers you collect.
